Chell Design has completed the ceiling of Nouveau Day Spa! A stunning design in Brown Suede Lusterstone and Gold Palette Deco, this 18 X 22′ stepped tray ceiling will ‘wow’ you when you walk in. The new spa is expected to open in November, so come get spoiled and enjoy the spectacular foyer.

It’s been a busy couple months at Chell design. We’ve been working on a custom home and had the opportunity to create one of a kind finishes. We’ve created a large crackled plaster niche with layers of gold, silver and green glazes, a completely original tromp l’oeil tree, painted the table with a soft green and ‘flyspecked’ finish, glazed distressed chairs, created a ‘chicken coop’ finsih -mimicking layers of time worn paint, created distressed and crackled silver leaf finish over an mdf cornice and painted a faux woodgrain to perfectly match the clients vintage doors. Whatever the decor challenge Chell Design can make it happen! (Interior Design by Virginia Pitts)

Chell Design Boutique is getting a makeover! We will be closed for regular business hours until the September 1st Art Walk for a sneak preview! We will reopen with a GRAND OPENING September 17th with lots of new artists work, one-of a kind finds and new wall finishes! We will still hold scheduled classes like Fine Art, Fine Wine on September 15th. And of course we can open by appointment.

June series: Drawing FUN-damentals

Drawing provides the basis for all creative practices and is important for the development of reading, writing and mathematics. In this series kids will explore many drawing techniques and mediums. The Artist’s Hand – Watercolor Workshop. June 18^th, 9:00am – 4:00pm (with an hour lunch break).

Guest instructors Chris Blevins and Suzi Vitulli have been traveling across the U.S. from the East Coast to Hawaii, taking lessons from fabulous watercolor artists. They will share some of what they have learned in this one day workshop. Chris will be teaching some great wet-into-wet and loose watercolor techniques in the morning and Suzi will be teaching “negative painting” techniques in the afternoon.

How to Paint Your Walls- June 4^th, 9-11 am

Do you want to paint your walls but don’t know where to start? This class is for you! We will make sense of the plethora of paint products, tools and techniques available. You will learn how to tape, mask and seal to establish perfect edges and trim with no bleed through. You will also learn how to cut in easily, when to prime, what type of roller covers to use and application. This is mainly a lecture and demo class but there will be opportunity to practice on an actual wall in the studio.

Easy Glazing- June 4^th, 12- 2:30 pm.

You are not beige! You will learn how to use single glazes over a neutral (‘latte’-beige) base paint to create depth and interest on your walls. We will cover ragging on, ragging off and a metallic wash technique. You will create 3 samples and practice on a studio wall.
